Built to handle heavy payloads, provide impressive performance, and execute years of reliable service, the 2017-2019 6.6L Duramax L5P is an absolute workhorse. However, as with any factory vehicle, some systems have limitations and areas that can be improved. Our engineering team has specifically identified the L5P’s intercooler system as one of these areas. As a result, we’ve developed a performance intercooler kit for the 2017-2019 Chevrolet/GMC 6.6L Duramax L5P.This kit includes a massive 68mm-thick bar-and-plate intercooler with cast-aluminum end tanks and 3.0in mandrel-bent piping for maximum cooling and flow. Our intercooler is 70-percent thicker than stock and is designed to be a robust unit capable of withstanding high temperatures and boost pressures without cracking. In addition, our end tanks also feature larger inlets and outlets for even more flow. That, coupled with the larger intercooler core, reduces restriction by over 64-percent compared to the stock intercooler.Our kit also includes hot-side and cold-side intercooler piping with DuraCore(TM) boots and constant-tension T-bolt clamps. It’s a common problem with the factory plastic charge pipes to crack under pressure, or split at the seams, a less than idea situation as you pilot your M3 or M4 in any situation. We created a brand new design for the charge pipes that inspire more confidence in handling the boost pressure. Our design features a full aluminum construction, with a cast mid-section designed specifically to squeeze past the intake. The mantra behind the grandfather of all hot-hatchbacks has long since been that big things come in small packages. The 2015- 2021 Golf TSI/GTI/R’s and its intercooling system are about to receive a much-needed overhaul with the Mishimoto Performance Intercooler Kit. The stock system can be best described as the meat in an intercooler sandwich. It’s no wonder with it placed directly between the radiator and AC condenser that this tube-and-fin constructed intercooler has trouble keeping up. Where this lighter core coupled with plastic end tanks might be suited for mass production and tame street driving, it will struggle to keep your intake air temperatures down under more intense driving, especially after the boost is turned up. The Mishimoto 2015- 2021 Volkswagen MK7 Golf TSI/GTI/R Performance Intercooler, armed with an arsenal of cooling technology, takes the place of the stock intercooler. Our engineers were able to squeeze in a larger core, increasing the overall volume by 89-percent over stock and bumping up the external fin surface area by 162-percent. On top of the larger core, our all-aluminum, TIG-welded intercooler features a more robust bar-and-plate construction for better heat dissipation characteristics.
