The S55 suffers heavily from heat soak. Many tuners witnessed this early on after doing multiple dyno pulls and seeing significant drops in power after each consecutive pass. Many F8X owners experienced the same loss of power on the track as the engine just could not cool off during laps. The solution is two fold: The Charge-Air-Cooler (CSF #8082/8082R) & Front Mount Heat Exchanger (CSF #8075/8075V) work together to keep the intake temps down and power up. The factory units simply cannot dissipate enough heat to keep up with prolonged performance driving. This BladeRunner Intercooler represents the next generation of intercoolers. Designed specifically for the 2012-2015 BMW 335i (F30) L6-3.0L (t) with the N55 engine, this BladeRunner intercooler utilizes a 5″ bar and plate core design. This design outflows the factory tube and fin core design, while the 3/16″ TIG-Welded end tanks offer superior strength and durability. In testing, this intercooler showed flow gains up to 15% and lowers manifold intake air temperatures. End Tanks: The unique BladeRunner end tanks are constructed out of 3/16″ thick aluminum plates and include two 1/8″ NPT ports for sensors or water-methanol injection. 5″ Bar and Plate Core Design: The use of the bar and plate core design allows for greater airflow and increased heat dissipation over the much smaller tube and fi n design used by the factory. TIG-Welded: 100% TIG-Welded inside and out by a certified craftsmen for strength and durability. TIG-Welding provides the strongest welds while reducing stress cracks. Pressure Tested: The BladeRunner Intercooler is test pressure rated at 200psi. Perfect Fit: Utilizes the factory mounting locations for a hassle-free installation. CSF 2019+ Lamborghini Urus / 2020+ Audi RS Q8 / SQ8 / SQ7 High Performance Intercooler System- Black
The intercooler cores are spec’d out by CSF and custom built by PWR. Featuring two rows of rolled cooling tubes with inner fins, these cores make for the most efficient intercoolers available. Because of this, they are able to eliminate heat soak and lower IATs much more efficiently than traditional Bar & Plate or Tube & Fin designs. This gives us maximum performance for extended periods of time under demanding driving conditions and for vehicles with increased power levels through modifications and tuning.
The CSF by PWR Urus/RS Q8 Twin Intercooler Set features Formula-1 grade cores which offer the greatest reduction in IATs and help eliminate heat soak. The Billet Aluminum construction offers the greatest strength and durability possible.
