Stage 1 – 93 Octane
An upgraded intake is strongly recommended for Stage 1. Improved inlet flow reduces restriction ahead of the turbochargers and increases available airflow, while also enhancing induction sound and throttle response.
While not required, an upgraded intercooler has the largest impact on real-world performance. The factory RS5 uses a water-to-air charge cooling system, which can quickly heat soak under sustained load. Improving charge air cooling—whether through an upgraded air-to-air solution or an enhanced water-cooled system—significantly reduces intake air temperatures, allowing the engine to maintain boost, timing, and power consistently rather than tapering as heat builds.
For owners focused on repeatable performance rather than short bursts, the intercooler is the single most effective hardware upgrade.
Stage 2 – 93 Octane
Stage 2 requires an upgraded intake, high-flow downpipes, and an intercooler. At this level, airflow and thermal control are no longer optional. Increased cooling capacity is critical to sustaining higher load and power without instability, excessive heat, or power falloff during longer pulls.
Stage 3 – 100% Custom, Tailored to Your Exact Setup
Stage 3 RS5 tuning is not a one-size-fits-all file. It is a fully custom calibration built around your exact hardware, fueling, and goals.
Stage 3 is intended for vehicles running upgraded turbochargers, HPFP, injectors, and supporting fuel system modifications, and supports 93 octane through E40.
Custom Stage 3 tuning is available for:
- Upgraded turbochargers (hybrid and full-frame)
- Upgraded HPFP
- Upgraded injectors (including Spool Performance)
- Custom or one-off fueling configurations
Fueling limits are respected, injector operation is kept within safe ranges, and torque delivery is carefully shaped to ensure clean, reliable performance. All tuning is validated using real street data—not just dyno pulls.

Every Jackal RS5 tune includes a complete AL552 TCU calibration, not a partial or patched file.
