The introduction of the S55 into the M3 and M4 in 2015 was the first time compact M’s saw turbos from the factory, but these engines brought along another long-standing tradition-blow-by. The Mishimoto BMW M3/M4 catch can kit uses proven engineering from the patent pending Mishimoto 2-Port Compact Baffled Oil Catch Can, with its 50-micron bronze filter and internal baffle, to better separate the oil from the crankcase vapors. The engineers at Mishimoto designed a CNC-machined lid that features large inlet and outlet ports to match the inner dimension of the CCV hose. This baffled oil catch can defends your intercooler, intake system, and VANOS system from oil blow-by and helps maintain proper octane levels to reduce potential detonation. The kit comes with two direct-fit hoses, which require no modification to the engine cover, and one direct-fit billet aluminum mounting bracket that is extremely easy to install and mounts the can in a serviceable location! Available with a color-matched bracket. Choose from 12 BMW specific color-matched options or classic black. Two aluminum, 3/4″ barb fittings connect the hoses to the can. And, like every Mishimoto oil catch can, this baffled catch can kit comes with the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty! Our catch cans are different from most air-oil-separator (AOS) systems on a few levels. First, our catch cans are not heated. This means that all of the blow-by is able to condense in the can, including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors. Most AOS systems also drain the blow-by back into the oil pan, while our catch cans trap the blow-by and keep it out of the engine permanently. If you’ve seen what we’ve seen in the bottom of our catch cans, you won’t want that draining back into your oil either.

In 2023, Ford’s ECM changed crankcase pressure monitoring. We redesigned to meet factory specs. The 2.7L EcoBoost has been powering Fords for nearly a decade and has become one of the most respected truck engines available. The second generation 2.7L features both port and direct injection for efficiency throughout the RPM range. While the added port injection helps clean the intake valves, it doesn’t protect the rest of your engine from the effects of blow-by. As blow-by flows through your intake, it coats components like sensors and your intercooler in a sludge of oil, carbon, and fuel, reducing their ability to function. Blow-by can also reduce the effectiveness of your engine oil. The factory air-oil-separator drains blow-by back into the oil pan, which is great for the environment, but the fuel and water in blow-by can thin your engine oil and reduce its viscosity.– Finally, any blow-by that does make its way back into the cylinder can reduce the octane of your fuel and, for a high-strung turbocharged engine like the 2.7L EcoBoost, lower octane means less power. The solution to all those issues is to capture the blow-by and keep it out of the engine with a Mishimoto catch can system. Our direct-fit baffled oil catch can system for the 2023+ Ford Bronco 2.7L EcoBoost intercepts blow-by before it enters the intake and captures it to be recycled at your next oil change. This dual catch can system provides efficient oil/water separation for both the PCV and CCV systems on your Bronco. Our catch cans feature an internal baffle and air turbulators that help condense oil, fuel, and water vapor from the blow-by, as well as a low-restriction composite filter that captures carbon particles.
