CSF 12-16 BMW M5 (F10) / 12-18 BMW M6 (F06/F12/F13) Twin Charge-Air-Cooler Set – Raw Finish

The S63 4.4L Twin Turbo V8 in the BMW F1X M5/M6 is an absolute monster that responds incredibly well to bolt-on upgrades, larger turbos, and performance tuning. Tuners quickly found that increasing power on the S63 pushed charge air temperatures past the OEM Charge-Air-Coolers’ limits resulting in dangerously high Intake Air Temperatures (IATs). Pure turbos approached CSF to develop a Charge-Air-Cooler upgrade that would hold up to the extreme boost levels their turbos upgrades could generate and keep the car’s IATs in check. The result was the World’s 1st Cast End Tank Designed High-Performance Charge-Air-Cooler Set for the F1X M5/M6. CSF used CFD analysis and testing to create the largest charge-air-cooler that could fit in the factory location. The Top/Bottom, Cross-Flow, Dual-Pass Cores are 28% larger than the factory coolers and offer significant reductions in IATs at increased boost levels.
The CSF Charge-Air-Coolers boast a 28% larger core size than factory per side. This greatly increases the capacity for heat transfer from the hot charge air from your F1X’s Turbos.
The CSF #8109R Cooling product is designed to be a “Drop-In Fit” application. The product will install in the OEM Location with no modifications necessary unless otherwise noted or instructions are included in the product package.     The S55 suffers heavily from heat soak. Many tuners witnessed this early on after doing multiple dyno pulls and seeing significant drops in power after each consecutive pass. Many F8X owners experienced the same loss of power on the track as the engine just could not cool off during laps. The solution is two fold: The Charge-Air-Cooler (CSF #8082/8082R) & Front Mount Heat Exchanger (CSF #8075/8075V) work together to keep the intake temps down and power up. The factory units simply cannot dissipate enough heat to keep up with prolonged performance driving. CSF’s Charge-Air-Cooler boasts a core size that is 60% larger, greatly increasing the capacity for heat transfer from the hot charge air coming from the turbos. Paired with the Front Mount Heat Exchanger the system is able to maintain lower intake temps and keep your BMW F8X’s power up.

    The CSF N55 Intercooler’s Stepped Core Design maximizes surface area contact and internal intake air-flow volume. The Rounded Front Face Bar/Plate Design optimizes airflow through the core and is a true “Drop-in Fit” Plug-and-Play Design. In testing the CSF Intercooler showed Intake Air Temperatures (IATs) that were 38 deg F (21 deg C) lower than factory after just 3 consecutive pulls from 4k RPM to 5.8K RPM. In that test, the CSF Intercooler maintained stable IATs. While most intercoolers don’t offer immediate performance gains without increasing boost pressure, the CSF Intercooler shows an increase of 15-20hp on stock N55 Powered BMW’s and 25+hp on modified examples.
