This BladeRunner Intercooler represents the next generation of intercoolers. Designed specifically for the 2012-2016 BMW 328i (F3X) 12-16 L4-2.0L (t) with the N20 engine, this BladeRunner intercooler utilizes a 5″ bar and plate core design. This design outflows the factory fin core design, while the 3/16″ TIG-Welded end tanks offer superior strength and durability. In testing, this intercooler showed flow gains up to 17% and lowered the intake air temperatures. End Tanks: The unique BladeRunner end tanks are constructed out of 3/16″ thick aluminum plates and include two 1/8″ NPT ports for sensors or water-methanol injection. 5″ Bar and Plate Core Design: The use of the bar and plate core design allows for greater airflow and increased heat dissipation over the much smaller tube and fin design used by the factory. TIG-Welded: 100% TIG-Welded inside and out by a certified craftsmen for strength and durability. TIG-Welding provides the strongest welds while reducing stress cracks. Pressure Tested: The BladeRunner Intercooler is test pressure rated at 200psi. Perfect Fit: Utilizes the factory mounting locations for a hassle-free installation. The intercooler and tubes utilize billet factory style quick connects to assure a leak-free connection.

    The S55 suffers heavily from heat soak. Many tuners witnessed this early on after doing multiple dyno pulls and seeing significant drops in power after each consecutive pass. Many F8X owners experienced the same loss of power on the track as the engine just could not cool off during laps.     The intercooler cores are spec’d out by CSF and custom built by PWR. Featuring two rows of rolled cooling tubes with inner fins, these cores make for the most efficient intercoolers available.     The OEM intercooler is made from plastic end tanks that are crimped onto an aluminum tube/fin core that is 4 inches thick (105mm core width) and is 5 inches in height (127mm). This may be enough to keep IAT’s in check on a completely unmodified / stock vehicle, but once users to start increase power through bolt-on modifications, tuning, and built engines, the OEM intercooler will become the Achilles Heel of the system with IAT’s skyrocketing out of the optimal range and drastically lowering the performance capabilities of the vehicle. Enter CSF with their stepped core design, bar/plate high performance N54 intercooler. This “drop-in fit” intercooler, which requires no modifications to install, has a bottom / larger section that is 5.5in thick (140mm) with a front face that is massive 8.25in tall (210mm). Made from CSF’s industry exclusive rounded bar/plate core design. The rounded front face of the cooling bars allows for better airflow into the core. Airflow hits the core surface, and rather than scattering like it does with hitting the face of a flat bar that all competing products have, it travels around the face of the round bar and into core for much better performance than both the OEM design (flat face) and all other aftermarket competitors (all have flat face tubes or bars). A huge improvement over the OEM unit, and enough to handle even the most advanced N54 engine builds. Good for 1000hp no problem!

    CSF designed and engineered the 992 Carrera intercooler to be a true Plug-and-Play “Drop-in Fit” unit. Utilizing all factory mounting points, the installation is straightforward and requires no modifications. The most important feature of the CSF by PWR 992 Carrera Intercooler System is the Formula-1 grade intercooler cores. CSF’s strategic relationship with PWR has allowed the inclusion of these cores, which is unlike any other available in the performance aftermarket. These cores are the same style used in other CSF air-to-air systems previously developed for the 992 Turbo/S and 991 GT2RS with incredible results.
