The TTE450 is a high-performance hybrid turbocharger engineered from the original IHI unit designed for the EA888.1 2.0 TSI engine. It delivers rapid spool, sharp throttle response, and substantial power gains, making it an excellent solution for builds targeting 400+ HP while maintaining drivability and reliability.
Engineered & Enhanced
At the core of the TTE450 is a significantly larger 2871X TTE billet compressor wheel. This next-generation design features ultra-thin blades for exceptional efficiency and airflow relative to its size, resulting in an expansive compressor map and improved performance potential. The compressor cover is precision re-profiled and machined to optimized tolerances to maximize efficiency. The original PCV port is removed and replaced with a TTE smooth-flow billet blanking plate to enhance airflow characteristics.
The intake tract is CNC-ported and hand-finished, ensuring a seamless air path when paired with the TTE smooth-flow cover. A billet CNC TTE boost adapter and silencer delete are installed to eliminate restriction, improve airflow, and provide a more pronounced turbo sound. Additionally, the compressor cover is CNC-machined to accommodate the TTE billet recirculation valve adapter, allowing installation of an original VAG recirculation valve for OEM-style fitment and dependable operation.
To drive the larger compressor, the turbocharger features a substantially upgraded 9-blade high-flow turbine and shaft assembly integrated within the K04 core. This advanced turbine design reduces back pressure, lowers exhaust gas temperatures, and significantly increases overall performance compared to the stock configuration.
Durability is ensured through a TTE-developed 360-degree high-performance motorsport journal bearing system, engineered to withstand high loads without compromising transient response. An uprated spring OE actuator with reinforced clamps is also installed to ensure consistent and reliable boost control.
Precision Balance & Quality Assurance
Precise balancing is fundamental to every TTE turbocharger, directly influencing longevity, performance, and acoustic refinement. Each unit undergoes a rigorous multi-stage balancing process. Individual components are first balanced at speeds up to 2,800 RPM using specialized single-part machinery. After assembly, the CHRA is dynamically balanced at speeds of up to 250,000 RPM on an in-house VSR machine, achieving equilibrium standards that exceed OEM specifications.
Every TTE450 turbocharger is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test report, confirming its precision calibration and quality.
