Race XD Solid Roller Lifters are the strongest, most durable and versatile lifters available from the leader in valve train technology, COMP Cams. Designed to be the most versatile solid roller lifters available, COMP Cams Race XD lifters feature a lightweight modular design with five interchangeable pushrod seats. Available in medium or large offsets with left or right placement, the COMP Cams Race XD series lifters are configurable to clear even the most extreme intake angles. REM finished bodies create an extra smooth surface for reduced lifter body and lifter bore wear. An available DLC-coated lifter body coating further minimizes friction for the ultimate in durability. For excellent strength in extreme operating conditions, COMP Cams incorporates a proprietary bronze alloy roller bushing, while a captured link bar joins individual lifters together. In an effort to eliminate the culprit for most roller lifter failures, axle and wheel oil starvation, COMP Cams developed a new oiling system that ensures consistent roller wheel and axle lubrication. COMP Cams Race XD Solid Roller Lifter sets are available in 0.842” and 0.904” diameter bodies for both Chevrolet Small Block and Big Block engines. 0.080” and 0.160” offset seats are available for 0.842” diameter lifters while 0.090” and 0.180” offset seats fit the 0.904” diameter lifters. All pushrod seats are designed to accommodate both 5/16”and 3/8” ball pushrods.

When dealing with full travel lifters, certain engines respond better to a light pre-load because it recovers more quickly from any bad harmonics in the valve train. Others work better with a heavy pre-load because oil volume is reduced under the plunger, which increases stiffness. COMP Cams Reduced Travel Hydraulic Roller Lifters allow you to have the advantages of both light pre-load and reduced oil volume, producing the most stable and highest revving hydraulic lifter available. Sportsman Lifters are offered in two configurations: a standard/traditional needle bearing axle/wheel design or an optional bronze bushing axle/wheel setup. And for Chevrolets, there are also left or right offset pushrod seat options. Each design features two pressurized EDM oil feeds to the axle, along with an edge orifice feed to the wheel. This design delivers a more reliable oil feed than most other options on the market. Sportsman Lifters also feature a shallower oil band than competitors’ versions for increased strength and rigidity, while internal machining helps to reduce weight. The body design utilizes a skirted wheel that strengthens the lifter ears and also provides more contact area with the lifter bore for further lifter stability. In addition, staked axles eliminate clips and provide robust axle retention. This permanent axle retention feature increases the stiffness of the lifter ears and helps prevent the ears from spreading.
