With this design, it is flexible enough to make install a breeze yet durable enough to wIt’stand just as much increased boost pressure abuse as an aluminum counterpart. It is constructed of five ply silicone and reinforced with steel wire to prevent any misshaping under vacuum. It is also one solid piece through-and-through, eliminating the need for couplers, because who likes failing couplers that cause boost leaks? We started with the size of the pipes. We added 13mm overall to both sides of the piping system bumping the diameters from 42mm to 55mm, equating in a 30-percent increase in size. We also took the liberty of reducing the angles of the bends in the piping, giving the charged air a more direct flow through the intercooling system improving the flow. The size and direction of the piping wasn’t the only change either. Gone is the degradation-prone plastic that makes up the cold-side piping, which has been replaced with a section of mandrel-bent aluminum pipe, giving your intercooler pipe kit an improvement in durability and style. We also took the liberty to replace the rubber in the stock kit with couplers constructed with 5 layers of durable silicone embedded with heat resistant fibers, keeping engine heat out of your intercooled charged air.
