The M3 has undergone significant evolution over the years, with each new iteration bringing something new to the table. From the brilliant widebody E30 of the eighties to the exotic sounding V8-powered E9X, each generation has its own identity but holds true to the goals of providing an amazing driving experience. The G8X gets one of the most potent engines produced by BMW to date, the S58B30, along with an option for AWD. Enhancing the S58 was something we set our sights on soon after acquiring a G80 of our own, the first project being our air intake system. Airbox volume, shape, and construction material all play a part in delivering maximum airflow to your engine. Our engineering team created extremely precise carbon fiber airboxes that eliminate restrictions, supply maximum cool-air entry via two additional ports that open to the wheel wells, and improve engine bay aesthetics. The use of carbon fiber material ensures the air intake system will incur minimum engine bay heat soak and provides unmatched aesthetic appeal. Our airboxes were designed using the latest in 3D printing, CAD modeling, and flow bench technology. As a result, we reduced air intake restriction by 13 percent on the driver-side intake tract and 22.8 percent on the passenger-side intake tract. For proper filtration, this kit includes dual high-flow oiled air filters which provide improved filter surface area and improved airflow over the stock panel filters. In addition to the flow benefits, our intake system provides a significant amplification of turbocharger spool and bypass valve venting. These enhanced sounds provide a new level of enjoyment, adding to the incredible driving experience you expect from a BMW M-Series. The legendary Ford Bronco has returned, and under the retro-styled hood lies a new legend: the 2.7L EcoBoost. The 2.7L EcoBoost has been powering Fords for nearly a decade and has become one of the most respected truck engines available. The second generation 2.7L features both port and direct injection for efficiency throughout the RPM range. While the added port injection helps clean the intake valves, it doesn’t protect the rest of your engine from the effects of blow-by. As blow-by flows through your intake, it coats components like sensors and your intercooler in a sludge of oil, carbon, and fuel, reducing their ability to function. Blow-by can also reduce the effectiveness of your engine oil. The factory air-oil-separator drains blow-by back into the oil pan, which is great for the environment, but the fuel and water in blow-by can thin your engine oil and reduce its effectiveness. Finally, any blow-by that does make its way back into the cylinder can reduce the effective octane of your fuel and, for a high-strung turbocharged engine like the 2.7L EcoBoost, lower octane means less power. The solution to all of those issues is to capture the blow-by and keep it out of the engine with a Mishimoto catch can. Our direct-fit baffled oil catch can kit for the 2021+ Ford Bronco 2.7L EcoBoost uses custom-molded hoses to intercept blow-by before it enters the intake and captures it to be recycled at your next oil change. Our catch can features an internal baffle and air turbulators that help condense oil, fuel, and water vapor from the blow-by, as well as a 50-micron sintered bronze filter that captures carbon particles. The new Bronco is here and if you’re even remotely interested in the automotive world, you know this is a big deal. Our team has evaluated the new Bronco and determined it is certainly worthy of the badge with impressive tech, and substantial capability, wrapped up in classical styling. Our familiarity with the 2.3L EcoBoost engine powering the Bronco made for a quick decision to create an effective catch-can solution. These engines feature direct-injection, which is great for creating an efficient burn and saving fuel but allows for carbon buildup on the intake valves. As blow-by flows over the intake valves, oil and carbon deposits can build up, impeding airflow and eventually preventing the valves from closing. The best way to treat carbon buildup is to prevent it, and that’s where this Mishimoto Bronco 2.3L direct-fit catch can kit comes in. This Mishimoto catch can kit diverts blow-by away from the intake and traps it in our catch can. Inside the can, a set of air turbulators and baffles separate fuel, oil, and water vapors from the crankcase gasses and collects them to be drained next time you change your oil. By not returning the blow-by to your oil pan, our kit prevents fouling of the oil that could reduce its effectiveness, leading to accelerated engine wear. When Ford introduced the new Bronco, it surely kept this spirit alive, but with some much-needed modern-day updates, like getting more than 5 mpg, for example. They achieved this by utilizing the EcoBoost family of engines. As great as the new Bronco is, there is always room for improvement. To give the Bronco some extra pep in its step, we’ve bundled two of our performance intercooler components to make the ultimate air-charge-cooling bundle for your 2.3L EcoBoost! The Mishimoto Performance Intercooler and Intercooler Pipe & Boot Kit bundle improves power and durability compared to the factory intercooler and pipes. What this all means is that in the real world, whether sitting in traffic or out on the trails, you’ll see improvements in performance.
