The CSF #8212 and #8213 heat exchangers cover all 12C, 650S/675LT, 570S/570GT/600LT, 720S/765LT, 750S, and GT/GTS models. There is some overlap in fitment for the 650S and 675LT models so you should consult a McLaren dealership with your VIN to confirm which coolers your application requires. The difference in the two heat exchanger models is the core height (measurement between tanks). The CSF #8212 (McLaren OE: 13L0183CP or 11L0375CP) are 59mm (2.3 in) taller than the CSF #8213 (McLaren OE: 11L0241CP).

The McLaren M838TE engine is a marvel of modern engineering. These twin-turbo V8s are capable of massive amounts of horsepower for their size. One of the limiting factors is the amount of heat that can be removed from the charge-air system. For this, the limiting factor is the original front mount heat exchangers. The goal in upgrading this system is to lower intake air temperatures (IATs) at higher boost levels and offer faster recovery from inevitable heat soak. The CSF engineering team worked hard to design the most efficient heat exchangers possible that fit into the factory housing pods.

If you’ve been following along with CSF’s products, you’ll see that we emerged in the AMG market with our W205 C63 AMG Heat Exchanger – it quickly became a #1 seller, so we took its momentum and created a full Mercedes-Benz AMG cooling line. CSF has mastered the charge-air cooling system and offers the Ultimate High-Performance All-Aluminum Heat Exchanger for the Mercedes Benz AMG 5.5L V8 bi-turbo engine. This AMG V8 utilizes a charge air cooler system – a water circuit (which flows through a pump into the charge coolers) and a heat exchanger (which uses the water to cool the compressed air). CSF’s High-Performance Heat Exchanger is larger and cools the water more efficiently than the OEM plastic/aluminum unit.

The High-Performance All-Aluminum Auxiliary Radiators work in conjunction with the rest of the cooling system to reduce temperatures throughout. This is critical as the Auxiliary Radiators not only help keep engine water temperatures lower, but also are utilized as the heat exchange medium in the air-to-water charge-air coolers for the turbocharger system to reduce intake air temperatures (IATs). Overall, the Auxiliary Radiators larger capacity prolongs the heat soak threshold and assists in keeping temperatures in optimal ranges. The included, detachable rock guard offers protection against the build-up of debris, as well as possible core punctures – unlike the OEM auxiliary radiators, which have little protection against the elements. CSF recommends purchasing two Auxiliary Radiators to replace both left and right OEM units (for vehicles with two from the factory). For maximum cooling performance, we advise installing in conjunction with the Front Mount Heat Exchanger (CSF #8197).
