Ford has finally graced our American shores with a Focus wielding the RS badge, and we couldn’t be happier. We wanted to improve and upgrade a lot of things on this car and among those priorities had to be an intake. Our engineers have spent many hours in development, performing a plethora of tests and data collection. This Is a full intake, replacing every core component in the OEM system including the airbox and the intake pipe. Our kit includes a 3in, aluminum pipe that routes all the way to the turbo, with all of the necessary bracketry to accommodate a perfect fit.The airbox has a similar design to the stock airbox, facilitating an improvemed pressure drop with an open top, exposing the filter to more air and sealing the box against the hood, keeping it fully enclosed. This airbox uses the factory air inlet ducts, grabbing air right from the front of the car and the ports are surrounded with weather stripping to avoid movement. We have put this intake through hundreds of miles of road testing and countless dyno runs to ensure repeatable and reliable max gains of 12 hp and 15 ft-lbs of torque that is safe on a stock tune. That’s why Mishimoto has developed our performance air-to-water intercoolers for the 2016-2024 Q50/Q60 3.0T. Our intercoolers feature a 49.8-percent increase in core volume over the stock intercoolers for improved heat transfer and maximum performance. That increase in core volume, combined with optimized tubes and fins, also allows our intercoolers to be over 51-percent less restrictive than stock. That means your turbos don’t have to work as hard, and the boost pressure they generate isn’t wasted shoving air through a restrictive intercooler. All those improvements result in dyno-proven charge air temperatures that are up to 23-degrees cooler than stock. Colder intake charge temps mean your VR30 can make the most of every drop of fuel, and we were able to produce power gains of up to 8 HP and 12 lb.-ft of torque without a retune. We also know that high boost pressures require strong components, which is why we constructed our intercoolers with cast aluminum end tanks. This design eliminates potential leak points and stress concentrations that welded tanks may suffer from. With the release of the new 2016 Mazda Miata, the Mishimoto engineers are excited to help increase cooling efficiency. We all know that these fresh-off-the-production-line Miatas will find their way to track, so Mishimoto developed a direct-fit Miata oil cooler kit to keep oil temperatures in check. Mishimoto’s Miata oil cooler makes sure that your oil stays at optimal temperatures, while your Miata is making leading laps around the track. Unfortunately, the new 2016 Miata was not equipped with a stock oil cooler, making the addition of an oil cooler an important modification. This Miata oil cooler kit features a Mishimoto 19-row stacked-plate oil cooler, which is placed directly in front of the radiator by application-specific mounting brackets for maximum air-flow. Application-specific braided stainless steel lines transfer oil from the cooler to the engine and feature -10AN fittings for an easy installation. Mishimoto engineers saw consistent temperature decreases of up to 57 F (29.5 C) using our non-thermostatic sandwich plate. In addition, intake/exhaust modifications are fantastic steppingstones that provide even greater benefits as you begin to upgrade other systems of your vehicle. Following the release of our Performance Intake for the 2017-2021 Civic Type R, our engineering team found another aspect of the induction system that could benefit from innovation. The stock turbo inlet pipe is a very sturdy cast-aluminum component that supplies ample airflow for stock and lightly modified vehicles. Despite this, the internal pathway leaves room for improvement for those seeking maximum airflow. Using the latest in 3D printing, CAD modeling, and flow bench technology, we created an optimal pathway for airflow from the air intake box to the turbocharger. These enhancements result in an inlet pipe that is 16.7-percent less restrictive than the stock unit. Our 2017-2021 Civic Type R turbo inlet tube is constructed with a robust CNC-machined cast-aluminum turbo compressor inlet connection flange. This mating surface is designed to OEM specifications, providing a perfect bolt-on fit. The upper portion of the tube is fabricated from mandrel-bent aluminum piping, which is professionally TIG welded to the cast lower. This kit includes a 4-ply silicone coupler to mate the Mishimoto Performance Intake MAF housing with our new inlet tube, as well as high-quality stainless steel worm-gear clamps and an EVAP hose adapter flange to make installation a breeze. We offer the option of either red or black powder-coated finish, providing an excellent aesthetic upgrade for your engine bay.
