The TTE760+ hybrid turbochargers from TheTurboEngineers are engineered specifically for the 4.0L V8 AMG platform, delivering substantial power gains while maintaining near-OEM spool characteristics and response. Designed for performance enthusiasts who demand both reliability and drivability, the TTE760+ offers an exceptional balance of output and efficiency.

Engineering & Performance Upgrades

Each pair of TTE760+ turbochargers is comprehensively re-engineered from the original units. The factory compressors are replaced with significantly larger, high-efficiency billet compressor wheels. To ensure optimal aerodynamic performance, the compressor covers are precision CNC-machined to achieve the ideal clearance and match the new compressor profile.

On the turbine side, the original turbines are replaced with TTE’s proprietary lightweight 9-blade turbines. The turbine housings are CNC-machined to accommodate the larger turbine geometry, substantially increasing exhaust gas flow capacity.

TTE 9-Blade Turbine Technology

The custom-designed TTE 9-blade turbine offers several performance advantages:

• Increased exhaust gas flow

• Reduced backpressure

• Lower exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs)

• Enhanced boost capability with improved safety margins

Thanks to its low-mass construction, the turbine reduces rotational inertia, enabling rapid spool-up and excellent throttle response despite its increased size.

Precision Balancing – The TTE Equilibrium Standard

Balancing is a critical element in achieving both performance and longevity. Every TTE760+ turbocharger undergoes a meticulous multi-stage balancing process to meet standards significantly exceeding OEM specifications.

1. Component Pre-Balancing: Individual parts are balanced at low speeds (up to 2,800 RPM) across multiple planes using a dedicated single-part balancing machine.

2. CHRA Assembly & Dynamic Balancing: Once assembled, the CHRA (Core Housing Rotating Assembly) is dynamically balanced at speeds of up to 250,000 RPM using TTE’s in-house VSR (Vibration Sorting Rig) system.

This rigorous process ensures optimal mechanical stability, improved durability, enhanced acoustic refinement, and maximum performance consistency.

Each turbocharger pair is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test result certificate, providing documented proof of quality and precision.
