The TTE290 is a high-performance IHI (Hitachi) turbocharger upgrade developed specifically for the popular 1.4 TSI EA211 VAG engine platform. Engineered to deliver up to 290PS (with appropriate supporting hardware and software on 102 RON fuel), this turbocharger offers a true plug-and-play solution while maintaining excellent throttle response and OEM-level reliability. The result is a seamless OEM+ performance upgrade.

Engineered & Enhanced

Each TTE290 begins life as a brand-new, genuine IHI OEM turbocharger. Our turbo engineering process then transforms it into a high-performance upgrade unit.

To achieve the desired performance gains, we install a significantly larger billet compressor wheel. This wheel is selected for its lightweight construction and high efficiency, ensuring rapid spool characteristics and strong mid-range performance. The compressor housing is CNC re-profiled in-house to precise tolerances, optimizing airflow dynamics and maximizing compressor efficiency.

Performance figures demonstrate:

• 270PS at 1.2 bar

• 290PS at 1.5 bar

On the turbine side, we CNC re-profile the exhaust turbine housing to accommodate a larger, high-flow TTE turbine and shaft assembly. This upgrade increases exhaust gas flow, reduces back pressure, and lowers exhaust gas temperatures. The result is safer operation at higher boost levels and improved overall engine efficiency.

Precision Balancing & Equilibrium

Precise balancing is critical to the longevity and performance of any turbocharger. At TTE, achieving perfect equilibrium is a core part of our upgrade process.

All individual components are first balanced at low speeds up to 2,800 RPM across multiple planes using dedicated balancing equipment. After assembly, the complete CHRA (Center Housing Rotating Assembly) undergoes dynamic high-speed balancing at up to 250,000 RPM on our in-house VSR machine.

This rigorous process ensures:
