The TTE280T is a high-performance hybrid turbocharger engineered specifically for 1.8T VAG transverse applications. Designed to deliver 280+ PS with near plug-and-play installation, it combines advanced machining, premium components, and precision balancing to provide exceptional power gains while maintaining reliability and drivability.

Engineering & Performance Enhancements

To create the TTE280 K03 hybrid upgrade, a significantly larger BorgWarner 2283 billet compressor wheel is utilized. This compressor features extended-tip technology for superior airflow efficiency relative to its size, resulting in a broad compressor map and enhanced performance across the rev range. The compressor cover is CNC re-profiled to optimized tolerances, ensuring maximum efficiency and airflow stability.

The compressor inlet is CNC-milled from billet material to create a smooth transition from intake piping to the enlarged compressor wheel. This reduces turbulence, increases air velocity, and improves overall system efficiency.

On the exhaust side, the turbine housing is CNC-reprofiled to accommodate a larger TTE 9-blade turbine and shaft, significantly lowering exhaust backpressure and improving spool characteristics.

Durability & Component Quality

A specially profiled 360-degree high-performance motorsport journal bearing is installed to maintain durability under elevated loads without sacrificing transient response. The turbocharger is fitted with an uprated, spring-reinforced OE actuator secured with reinforced clamps for consistent, trouble-free operation. Actuator settings can also be customized to meet specific customer requirements.

Precision Balancing & Quality Assurance

Precise balancing is critical to achieving both longevity and peak performance. Each TTE turbocharger undergoes a rigorous multi-stage balancing process:

• Individual components are balanced at speeds up to 2,800 RPM across multiple planes.

• After assembly, the CHRA is dynamically balanced at speeds of up to 250,000 RPM using an in-house VSR machine.

This process ensures balance standards exceeding OEM specifications, improving performance, durability, and acoustic refinement. Every unit is supplied with a serial-numbered balance test report verifying its calibration and quality.
