One issue with the factory BMW DCT setup is the incredibly heavy dual-mass flywheel. There is no clutch so the rotating mass stays pretty minimal overall, but we noticed there was definitely room for improvement. From the get go we knew we needed to develop a sprung hub setup to help dampen any harsh vibrations being transferred from the engine to the transmission in an effort to help protect those clutch baskets inside the transmission as they have been known to crack when using rigid, non-dampened, flywheels. We took our dampened clutch disc technology that has proven itself time and time again to be incredibly robust and reliable and meshed it directly into a dampened hub that bolts to the flywheel. The lightweight sprung flywheel allows for quicker shifts and faster revs while maintaining maximum dampening during hard, high RPM shifts, and stop and go driving on the street.
Lets face it, LS swap the world will never not be a thing. The platform has proven itself time and time again in an endless array of setups. The options for transmissions to go along with it seem to be never ending as well. Here’s another one for ya. The BMW DCT transmission is a spectacular piece of engineering, allowing you to shift gears in a scant 50 milliseconds (the average driver can shift gears around 1 second on a typical H-pattern gearbox). This adapter plate and accompanying flywheel will allow you to bolt up the BMW DCT transmissions found in the S55, S65, or S63 applications.
Description Building on the success of our OE replacement BMT DCT flywheels and the numerous requests we’ve received from people wanting to utilize our robust heavy duty sprung hub in their projects, we thought we’d just do the hard work for you and offer you a flywheel and adapter plate. This flywheel is designed specifically to be used with our LS to DCT adapter plate but could also work with other adapter plates on the market as long as they are 1-3/8″ thick. This flywheel is specifically to be used in the 6 Cylinder application DCTs. This flywheel is used in conjunction with an automatic flexplate that will need to be purchased separately.
This flywheel is designed for all 6 bolt crank LS engines. We also offer an 8 bolt crank flywheel (DCT-253-AL)

What are your thoughts, should Subaru’s come with a K20/K24 motor or should Honda’s be equipped with an AWD system similar to Subarus? Regardless, this adapter plate kit will allow you to bolt up Honda’s K series motors to a Subaru EJ transmission (5 or 6-Speed). This kit utilizes the factory Honda starter and includes a cover plate to cover the starter hole on the Subaru transmission. This allows you to utilize a RWD K series wiring harness without too much fuss.
